Læsio Littlejohn
Sio — Esrevn
Bassist · Multi-Instrumentalist · Composer · Producer
Læsio Littlejohn — known in Esrevn as Sio — is an innate and enthralling electric and upright bassist from Washington, D.C. and Dallas, Texas, whose command of the bottom end is as effortless as it is magnetic.
At just 7 years old, Læsio encountered a collection of electric basses by happenstance and immediately demanded lessons. What followed is one of the most decorated early careers in contemporary jazz. Mentored by renowned bassists across D.C., New York, California, and Dallas — with deep inspiration drawn from Paul Chambers, Christian McBride, and the Ramsey brothers — Læsio has built a foundation that is both classical and instinctive.
His accolades speak for themselves: a 2024 and 2025 Outstanding Bassist at Jazz at Lincoln Center's Essentially Ellington competition; a DownBeat Student Music Awards 2025 winner in Blues/Pop/Rock Soloist; a 2025 winner in Original Composition; four consecutive years as Texas TMEA All-State Jazz Bassist; bassist for the National Endowment for the Arts and Herbie Hancock Institute of Jazz's National All-Star Peer-to-Peer Jazz Sextet Tours; recipient of the Jazz Education Network's 2024 Dr. Lou Fisher Co-Founder Scholarship; and a YoungArts Winner with Distinction in Jazz Bass.
He has performed with the Vail Jazz All-Stars at the Vail Jazz Party, represented the Monterey Jazz Festival's Next Generation Jazz Orchestra on the Jimmy Lyons Main Stage, and holds multiple full merit scholarships to Berklee College of Music's Summer Jazz Workshop.
Beyond the bass, Læsio is a multi-instrumentalist — fluent in double bass, electric bass, electric guitar, acoustic guitar, piano, and electronic and virtual instruments — and an award-winning composer actively scoring music for film and television and composing original works for new media and artists across varied genres.
Læsio is currently a sophomore at the University of Miami's Frost School of Music on a full scholarship, majoring in Media Scoring and Production — the same program that brought the Littlejohn brothers together to create 1423, Esrevn's debut EP.
Læsio aspires to graduate from college and beyond, ultimately becoming one of the most sought-after composers, producers, and musicians ever — who happens to play bass. The bass is where it started — the journey is infinite.
